Community hubs

Wincott Street Community Hub

Our community hub is a space where individuals, groups, organisations and those with a vision for strong community links can come together, learn from each other and share resources, and co-create community resources that respond to community needs.

We work in partnership with grassroots organisations providing the space to run events, groups and services, and we use our expertise to develop and deliver effective community programmes. We work with our partners to help them build capacity, establish roots, and grow their reach and impact.

Our neighbourhood hub team catalyse new community connections within and beyond the boundaries of our hub with projects that improve the local community and offer a diversity of support that responds to the needs identified by our community, creating community resilience and fostering a sense of belonging among Kennington residents experiencing social isolation, particularly due to age or disability. Our Hub, and the local spaces in which we work, create vibrant and accessible spaces for residents to come together, fostering a strong sense of community and reducing feelings of isolation.

We’re currently partnering with:

Lambeth Mediation Service

Co-producing community mediation and conflict resolution services for Lambeth residents.

Repowering London

Co-producing Energy Saving Roadshows.

Let’s Grow

A new VAWG Recovery programme for survivors of abuse in Lambeth, alongside the Lambeth VAWG and Independent Advisory Groups (IAG).

As well as other one-off and adhoc community events and groups.

Through encouraging local participation we are strengthening Kennington’s social fabric and creating a more interconnected community, enhancing community cohesion and a sense of belonging. Through groups and events, our neighbourhood hub team and partners are working to improve people’s mental health and wellbeing, increasing social contact, reducing loneliness, and improving confidence and self-esteem.
